Kurunegala, Ibbagamua, a beautiful old house that has undergone extensive refurbishment is available to let on a room only basis. Would be ideal for people who are looking for a stop-over for a few nights or for people who are looking for a tranquil place to write, paint, sketch, meditate, practice yoga, read, bird watch, hike, get in touch with nature, swim, sunbathe or just relax and escape the rat race for a long or short period of time. The house is situated a few miles north east of Kurunegala in Ibbagamua and is surrounded by paddy fields with views of distant mountains and Bathalagoda lake is a two minute walk from the property. There are three double rooms, stylishly furnished with twin beds and wardrobes, ceiling fans and portable air-conditioner is also available. Each room has its own en-suite bathroom with running hot and cold water, shower, WC and wash-hand basin. One of the rooms has its own verandah and there is a very large verandah at the front of the property where guests are welcome to sit. There is also a communal sitting room, dining room and a three acre garden. Linen and towels supplied. Bathalagoda Lake (see pic) and a small stream are few minutes walk from the house in which you are able to swim. In addition to the above there is a very large open room on the top floor of the house with wooden floors, a covered roof and open walls with a half-wall and railings to all four sides that would be suitable for use as an artists studio, photography studio or yoga and meditation courses for groups. This section of the property is available for individuals or groups of around 10 people who want to use the top floor as a large open dormitory too. Rent is given in USD per person per night inclusive of breakfast, lunch & dinner. There is 24 hour internet access.
