The Room: Its a big bedroom, especially for NYCapprox. 15x9 -- unfurnished with a big window that provides lots of natural light & leads out onto the fire escape. It has a close, albeit a rather small one, BUT with the size of the room you can easily fit one of those pop-up type closets as well as a dresser, nightstand, TV, and of course, any size bed you prefer. Id stay away from King -- Ideal is a full or a twin a long as you dont fall off. I actually have a pop-up closet Im not using if you want to buy it off me for $60. I think I paid $100 for it and its still in the box unassembled.
Outside the room:
Its a very roomy 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment with a nice sized kitchen equipped with all the essentials that you are totally welcome to use (pots, pans, plates, etc---I just ask to treat them kindly)...nice sized bathroom-good water pressure...a vibrant living room with lots of seating & a large flatscreen TV. Theres art on every wall. It feels very much like a homean artists home.
In/Around the building: Washington Heights--W 163rd & Broadway--We have an elevator in building. The AC & the 1 trains are just a few blocks away in 3 directions direction. My previous roommates & I lived here for about 6 years & love the apartment itself & the location -- lots of bars & restaurants around, and if you dont feel like going out, whatever type of cuisine youd like can be delivered. Theres several grocery stores around, liquor stores, laundromats, post office, Wendys.....you can find pretty much anything you need.

Im an actor & an artist, painter, jewelry-maker, etc. I love to cook--Im originally from a small town in Tennessee, I love TV in all forms--shows, movies, news, documentaries, sports--primarily football. I love football (the friendly kind) and watch it religiously during football season. My first roommate I had for 5 and a half years was very suddenly transferred to Tokyo with his job & wont be returning for a long time. The room is completely empty now, ready to be filled. Couples are perfectly fine, man or woman, whatever. I just ask you be clean in the shared areas. Your room can be Chernobyl (no radiation tho). I need proof you can actually pay the rent. I will be moving out at the end of my lease in Feb 28th. You may choose to try to take over the lease. I keep to myself for the most part...admittedly, I may talk to myself from time to time whether its running lines or...whatever else, I mean, not loudly. Moving on, I love lots of color and lights, and the apartment reflects that. I believe in the healing power of stones & crystals so some of those sitting about...the good news is even if you dont believe a damn thing about healing crystals or stones, they are pretty to look at so its a win-win. Im known for saying whats on my mind. Its not difficult to figure out how I feel about any particular situation or thing---I can be expressive, but I always do my best to express respectfully.
Communication is really one of the most important things to me. And respect--respect for the space and respect for each other. I like to leave the drama for the stage. And one last thing: vodka is my drink of choice. My wild, partying days are behind me, but certainly not relaxing with some vodka and a couple friends from time to time.
RENTAL REQUIREMENTS
The rent is currently $1234/mon plus utilities/cable/wifi that wed splitdepends on what time of year it is as to how much..
Im asking for proof of sufficient income and 1-2 roommate references if possible. Id also like someone who is willing to sign a roommate contract since you wont be on the actual lease. We can rectify that though. To move-in Ill need the first & last months rent as well as a security deposit, $ total (this we can look at further depending on what we figure out when we meet with your financial needs as to what we need to do).
