You would have use of the rest of the house (except basement apartment) which includes the dining area, well-equipped kitchen, living room, rear deck and fenced yard. The house is air conditioned. Washer and dryer in the basement shared with basement tenant. Monthly rent includes utilities and internet. The rule of thumb is that monthly income should be approximately three times the amount of rent

I do not have cable tv but, rather, a small tv with local broadcast stations and an indoor antenna.

The cross streets are 6th and D streets, NE. Union Station for the red line metro is about a 12 minute walk from the house, as is the U.S. Capitol building and Senate Office Buildings. House Office Buildings take longer. Eastern Market Metro Station and Trader Joes grocery store are about 15 minutes walk away. Whole Foods, Giant grocery stores, CVS pharmacy , dry cleaners and restaurants about 8 minutes walk away. Bike Rental, bus stops and library one or two blocks from house.

This is not a party house but, rather, a clean and quiet home (so as not to disturb basement apartment tenant) with no smoking, positively NO overnight guests, no drugs or pets, in a very nice neighborhood in the historic district at Stanton Park.

Street parking is allowed with Zone 6 sticker obtained from the Department of Motor Vehicles. However, is less of a hassle if you use public transportation instead.
